Care Connections is a ministry of St. John’s Lutheran Church that reaches out to the community with the love of Jesus Christ. They work alongside of Christian partner organizations to increase the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of our neighbors in Jefferson County by linking people with needs to services that address those needs. Care Connections offers individual and group counseling services, therapy programs, and crisis intervention services. Our programs offer hope, support healing, and lead to healthy Christ-centered living.
Stephen Ministers are congregation members trained by Stephen Leaders to offer high-quality, one-to-one Christian care to people going through tough times. A Stephen Minister usually provides care to one person at a time, meeting with that person once a week for about an hour. St. John's partners with Open Door Ministries to reach God's world through the children in Honduras. Open Door Ministries operates orphanages and feeding stations to help children who have been abandoned and abused. St. John's presence, prayers, and mission dollars in Honduras lead to a starving child eating, an abused girl being rescued, and an orphan having a home.
